Abstract

Taking into account the growing interest shown in blockchain and the involvement of public and private systems in the development of this technology, this paper aims at a systematic analysis of the literature to identify areas that use blockchain or intend to use it as soon as possible. The review covers 507 articles from economics, business, and management from Springer's electronic database. The results show that the first 5 areas of interest for research are cryptocurrencies, supply chain, energy, banking, and healthcare. The added value of this paper is a forecast of key industries that will develop and operate using blockchain technology in the next future.
