Between the Real and the Unreal: Space and Time in Fantastic Literature
Keywords:
space; time; fantastic literatureAbstract
Through their multiple defining dimensions, space and time become essential instruments for interpreting literary motifs, meanings, as well as literary modes and models. Fantastic literature achieves a striking transformation and a bewildering fusion of these two categories, replacing chronological and rational temporality, as well as objective and concrete spatiality, with subjective and personalized spatio-temporal dimensions.
